2-1 Primeval Demon

General Information[edit]

Each world has a Primeval Demon, which will appear in specific locations slightly before Black World Tendency (see below). This means they appear while a world is slightly whiter than Pure Black. They will also be there when PBWT has been achieved. Primeval Demons are for the most part harmless but if the player stands in front of the demon's mouth, it will bite.

Killing them will raise the respective World's Tendency by +3 and there is a high chance of dropping a Colorless Demon's Soul. In the event that the Primeval Demon does not drop a Colorless Demon's Soul when killed, should the game not "save itself", the player may try to immediately load his/her file and kill it again, repeating until one is obtained. This method is very uncertain, however, as the game chooses when to auto-save, making it "wishful thinking" at best. If a Colorless Demon's Soul doesn't drop, try the loading game method; just don't depend on it working.

World World Tendency Location
Boletarian Palace 1-3 -3 From the archstone, go past where you find the Official's Cap. Take the right stairs and past two guards with their backs to you, you should see the Primeval Demon.
Stonefang Tunnel 2-1 -3 From the archstone, go into the area underneath the falling boulders. Find the crank, go out to the balcony and take the lift down. There will be a Primeval Demon there.
Tower of Latria 3-2 -3 In the swamp, guarded by Giant Man Centipede off one of the boardwalks which leads to a dead end on a cliff.
Shrine of Storms 4-2 -3 After killing the first Reaper, fall down and turn left. A passageway opens to the left hand side of the Reaper's room. There's a body with an Eye, and on the way, a secret passage entrance that can be destroyed. There's a strong Dual-Katana Black Skeleton here, which can kill you in one hit. After defeating him, continue left and upwards past a Crystal Lizard towards where the White Bow is, until you reach the Primeval Demon.
Valley of Defilement 5-2 -3 Directly facing the Filthy Woman in the "village", head directly left back into the swamp, towards the ramp which leads up to the slug nest. Past some mosquitoes you will encounter the Primeval Demon.

Enemy ID and Stats[edit]

The information below reflects the game's hard programmed values for enemy stats and values. However, these values don't always align precisely with values seen in game. This is due to Special Effect Multipliers (similar to NPCs) and World Tendency Multipliers.

Special Effect Multipliers[edit]

Special Effect Multipliers are blanket multipliers that are applied to NPCs, including Black Phantoms. For example, if the HP multiplier is "x2", the NPC will have twice the health that the player would have if they had identical stats and equipment. The NPC's attack multipliers are applied before the damage is affected by the player's defenses and resistances. Damage received by the NPC is slightly more complicated. When the player does damage to the NPC, the raw damage is put into a formula and computed against the NPC's resistances. These resistances are multiplied by the values in the Physical/Magic/Fire Defense columns before calculation. Afterward, the remaining damage is reduced by resistances, it is then multiplied by the Damage reduction multipliers in the Physical/Magic/Fire Reduction columns. The output damage remaining is the dealt to the NPC.
